BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR LADY QUEEN ANGELS EDUCATION FOUNDATION.

INTRODUCTION

OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS EDUCATION FOUNDATION was founded in the year 2006 by Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Ibeh. At its inception, the sole aim of this foundation was to provide Computer and Music Education to the children and youth of Obohia and beyond. These objectives were born out of his personal experiences, having been born and bred in Obohia. In January 2008, Our Lady Queen of Angels Education Foundation became the Launchpad and platform which saw the birth of OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS COMPUTER AND MUSIC ACADEMY.

EARLY YEARS 

Our Lady Queen of Angels Computer and Music Academy started it's journey in and with C.K.C. Nursery primary school, Obohia, in a form of partnership.

The founder - Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Ibeh was responsible for the teachers and teaching materials for computer studies and music courses while the Parish was responsible for the rest of the subjects.

The then Parish Priest- Rev. Fr. Celestine Ekennia was a wonderful collaborator and served as both a good inspiration and influence in the growth of the school.

Ichie C. N. Anyanwu was the first head of Our Lady Queen of Angels computer and music academy, Obohia.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT 

The school, as a computer and music academy always fostering for the best for our students, once had a contract with some lecturers in the music department Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (now a University)where our music students learnt various musical instruments provided by the Founder of this noble institution.

And to the glory of God today, we have employed professionals( Professors, Academic Doctors and Masters holders) who now train our students in our own structure /site/environment.

We were offering some specific packages in our computer department, but today, we offer all computer packages including the internet packages.

Generally, we have expanded and launched into our own infrastructure/building. 

We have extended from two (2) departments to various departments which includes COMPUTER, MUSIC, FASHION DESIGNING, CATERING, CINEMATOGRAPHY, AUDIO ENGINEERING, ARTS & CRAFT, HAIRSTYLING & MAKE-UP, CHAPLAINCY AND MEALS ON WHEELS DEPARTMENTS.

(3) We now have standard curriculums for OND and HND programmes.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS 

We have been able to produce vibrant students who are now imparting the society positively. We have our COMPUTER graduates working in various companies and firms, some having their own cyber cafes and business centres.

We've also produced musicians who are professional players of various musical instruments around the globe.

CHALLENGES AND OVERCOMING THEM!

We encountered so many challenges which in otherwise created new ideas that launched us to higher levels.

1. Insufficient learning space 

2. Unsecured environment 

3. Inadequate learning facilities.

We've been able to overcome these challenges by acquiring a large area of space for proper school structure, secured with fence and security personnel.

We now have all the departments fully equipped.

IMPACT AND LEGACY

On Students: OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS EDUCATION FOUNDATION has really made a huge impact on her students academically, morally, spiritually and physically.

In the Society: OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS EDUCATION FOUNDATION is hiring and has created  massive job opportunities for graduates (especially the youths).

OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS EDUCATION FOUNDATION will continue to be relevant because of it's uniqueness in curriculum implementation, professional employments, course selections, spiritual and moral impartation, professional instructions, classroom management, records, scholarship programmes, serenity, security, and in the overall management of the school.

CONCLUSION 

OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS EDUCATION FOUNDATION is a bedrock and a citadel for skills oriented courses.

Therefore, as we reflect on the journey of the school so far, we prospect for a better tomorrow.
